I thought you only had males? You don't realy need to worry about in-breeding though - the fry won't survive with the adults around and if you don't feed them extra. At least your fry are growing and healthy :)

Hi sylvia,

If you look on my original post I have a link to some new pictures at the time, but even after i posted them 2 fish decided to change gender. They all showed a neon blue mark near the tail fin. Until they decided what gender they where :S I am.

Its my first time trying to rear the fry so I'm learning myself, cause it seems no one else has by the lack of information i have recieved back.

All said and done hopefully i will be in a better position to advise others in future.

Hi StrontiumDog,

I read your other topic about your first generation spawning and I must first say congratulations. You must have the most desired tank for Grouamis, they seem comfortable. I have to ask you what kind of floating plants you have for your tank, at least the tank where the bubblenest formed. I have been hoping to find a good plant for my 10G and the Dwarf Gourami that I am hoping to get and the plants that you have look great. I am not looking to start breeding, but I just want to have a plant that will make the Dwarf Gourami comfortable. Sorry to hijack your topic with this question.

hi dartos,

my male made a bubble nest all by himself, but with the filter i had at the time the water was moving to fast so what i did was cut a strip of hornewart(*sp) tie fishing line to either end and stick it either side of the space where the male was making the nest, to reduce the water movement.
