Hey, I have a, what I think is a channa gachua - but I'm not sure about the temperature I should keep it at, atm it's at 25 degrees C but I've heard they prefer/need around 20? Is this true?

thanks

Anywhere between 20 and 27 is fine, they come from shallow waters where the temperature varies greatly throughout the day so have a wide tollerence zone.

Great, another question - I'm not actually too sure about the species it is, (hopefully it is a dwarf <.<) but, it appears to have black stripes - could this be some sort of stress bars or such?

Gachua do show stress bars but a picture is worth a thousand words.

I'll get some pics today - but I 'caught' the little guy swimming around and he was fully coloured up. I'll get some pics today to show you what I mean when he's 'stripy'

Its a predator, so meat, carnivore pellets etc..and a picture...

Right, now I'm gonna sound like a moron, if you could point out ventrals somewhere I could easily tell you - but atm I can't >.<.

Sorry I can't actually get pictures but I've compared it to many on the web and I would say it's bleheri.
