What is the the best size tank to keep 2 dwarf snakeheads in
regards peter

Hi Peter
It depends on which dwarf snakeheads?

I used a keepa few and bred Orientalis

My orientalis I kept in a 24x12x12 which would probably be frowned upon but they did well in there. Assams and Bleheris again I kept in a 36x12x12

dwarf channa are amazing fish and would be the first fish I turn to onceI get a house that can have more tanks again

Thanks would you recomend for a 4ftx18"x18" tank regarding substrate plants caves etc and do you now of any breeders in the midlands cheers peter

that tank would be great

My personal favourite was Pulchra. Attractive fish and supposedly easy to breed. The breeding behaviour of these fish is great as they show great care for the young

My channa tanks were a mess but they seemed to like it that way. Lots of plants and floating plants and caves and bogwood make a perfect channa environment

They travel well and I have bought them in the past as babies through the post with no problems
Amate of mine is selling my old breeding pair of Orientalis

Hi Peter
I suppose itdepends on what you want to keep as in Channa wise as there are varying degrees of aggression
I personally preferred them as a species set up and I;d buy 6 babies to try and get a pair. The behaviour was different than when mixed with other fish

I kept Assam and Orientalis with other fish like small cichlids etc but when the Orientalis bred they got very aggressive

The Asciata for example are very feisty andI wouldn;t recomend different species tank mates as with Pulchra

thanks ive got a monster tank coming so i may get some grow them on in 4ft tank then go into big tank i will like you say keep them on there own :good:
