Breeding Dwarf Neon Rainbowfish
If you want to your Dwarf Neon Rainbowfish to spawn, you need to provide them with suitable spawning media in the aquarium. You can for instance use spawning mops or densely grown java moss. Well-fed adult fish will normally leave eggs and fry alone in the well planted aquarium. If you keep the water temperature in the upper part of the recommended range you can expect the eggs to hatch within 10 days. You can feed the fry infusoria and finely ground flakes until they are big enough to eat newly hatched brine shrimp and gnaw on whole flakes.

A few places I read about said Java moss, I guess they lay their eggs in it.  I've seen them and really wanted them before but I dont have the room in my tanks  but I do have 3 regular rainbowfish

I kept these before and yep they're a stunning adition to any lanted tank. Very vivid indeed. They don't actually breed in moss, they breed high up near the surface and the female has a burst of eggs which the male goes nutty about. It will look like a shower of white dots...

You can't "plan" to breed them, if your stats are fine they will breed. If you want to ensure you save some fry google "rainbow spawn mop."

That my friend is an amazon sword. Great plant but it grew to 50cm high and about 35-40cm wide and while it looks nice, it created a dead spot right behind the lower third of the plant which isn't really healthy for any tank imo

I think as long as you have tip top water and try to condition them with good food you'll probably see feeding behaviour, especially in the early morning. But in a community tank you probably won't get fry surviving.
