i just bought this plant recently, and all ready i have a couple lilly pads.

However I have read that you can "train" the plant to stay low and not send off lilly shoots.

How do i go about doing this?

I haven't tried to keep mine short, but I have read on here that the more you prune it, it will learn to stay short. So, if you want the leaves to stay under, say, 5 inches, cut the stems off when it reached 5 inches.
