I just added Dwarf Hairgrass and moneywort 24 hours ago. I also added SeaChem root tabs to help for growth. Today I check them and some parts of them seem to be really brown or browning up. Others are nice and green though. I did notice while I was planting them that some of them had longer roots while others seemed to just have the grass part with a tiny bit of white. My point of view is that if those parts browned then all of the rest should've too, so its the ones that didn't have roots. What do you think?

Thank you for your help! :D

Alot of hair grass is like that mate. When i tried with it i was forever fishing out floating pieces of it. Some seem to have roots and others didn't. Must be how it is grown at the nursery then just gets bundled up and sent out.

Thanks. :) So does that mean that it is okay? The brown spots are actually starting to grow some green on top of them now. I just added Seachem Flourish tabs last night, so that could be why they are starting to do better now. In fact, I think there may even be some runners! :D

It will take a week or so to adjust to your water and light, but after that you should start to see growth. The brown ones should be removed which is a PITA but worth it as you will keep finding them floating around your tank! :grr:

Ha ha ha. :) Thanks for your help minnnt. I'll be sure to remove the brown ones now. :D

give it a good chop back, it makes it grow a little quicker.:good:

It can be trimmed right down and should be when freshly planted. I have trimmed it down to around an inch before and it has grown a lot quicker.
