hi i had a parshal planted tank with air stone witht he following fish
*3 male guppys
*3 female guppys
*2 red-blue top fin dwarf guramani
2-all blue dwarf guramani
*1 pleco

anyway i went on holiday for a week and put one of those 14 day feeds in the tank (may of been a little to much )
but was recomended by my local aquatics

i returned and was missin one of the blue guramani fish  completly vanished
i did a clean out later on that day and noticed some little bones underneath the bog wood i have in there .
now is that the remains of my guramani and anyone have any idea on how this happend ?
did my plec eat it ? would it have already been dead ?
iv noticed on the side of the remaining blue guramani there is some slight worn marks on it iv been back 2 days and its healing nicely but is this common for a pleco to do this as i can only assume
that he had eaten all the food i put in the tank n then got hungry over the week and eaten the guramani hes maybe a little bit bigger then the dwarf guramani but wudent say much bigger

any advice apreciated
thanks :)

They won't eat a live fish, but a dead or dying one/not moving would get eaten.  A lot of fish will have a go at dead fish so probably by the time you came back that's what was left.  Sometimes that can be a good thing because rotting fish would have been a lot worse scenario.

hmm strange lol im still puzzled as iv do tests on the water weekly and all is fine and did one before i cleaned it out and still all was fine . iv had the gouramanis about 3 months and have been so well but just more puzzled as to the disapearence and done know how the damage on the remaining blue guramani
:)

A picture of the "damaged" gourami would help too. Just because that gourami has something external visible, doesn't mean the missing one died of related issues.
Those automatic feeders are not recommended for a reason because they may cause ammonia spikes by dropping too much food but that's only a possiblity. I've no idea what may have happened to that poor fish.
I've got a large common pleco and he's never ever attacked or eaten a fish alive, or even a small fry but he'll suck on anything that doesn't move and smells of food I guess because he's like a hoover.

What size is the tank?
What type of pleco is it?
Do you have any pictures of the fish that has the "worn marks".
Is there anything in the tank that the Dwarf Gourami could have rubbed against? Do you have a picture of the tank?

First thing first, what size aquarium? and how big is the Plecostomus? I have a few tanks with Plecostomus and if they are put in a smaller aquarium with a bigger fish and the bigger fish annoys them a little the plecostomus will attack it, that is my opinion on the damaged one but I doubt it could kill a live one and yeah a pic would be good.

The tank is a 60 litre . ( before u mention I will be upgradeing shortly to bigger tank )
Il try upload some pics soon . Thank u all for the advice so far
