Well, I've tried and am now giving up with dwarf gourami. I'm now down to 4 females, one of which is showing signs of ulcer near it's mouth. From previous experiance, I'll give it a week and if there's no improvement then I'll have to euthenise it. That will leave me with three and to be honest, I'v had enough of them getting ill and dying. All my other fish are thriving and the original dwarf is still doing well, but I reckon it's only a matter of time. So if anyone wants to rehome my remaining healthy females, please pm me. I'm in North Yorkshire.

what is your water specs? it may be ideal for your other fishes but not a dwarfs. if i were u i'd single out the ill one and give it a salt bath. when its well return it into the main tank. they are awesome fishes so dont give up on them

Ammonia 0, Nitrite 0, Nitrate around 10, ph is quite high at 8, temp 26C, 30-50% water change each week. I've just not had any luck finding disease free dwarfs. Except for the first one I bought back in Feb who's doing briliantly. I always quarantine for a few weeks before adding to the main tank. The ulcers seem to appear within couple of months, in this case I've had the fish since April, no sign of disease until last week. Removed the fish as soon as I noticed the ulcer, tried salt bath, ulcer meds etc. Fish feeds fine but tends to hide the rest of the time. My others have all gone the same way. In fact I had one with a nasty ulcer by it's mouth, couldn't catch it, so ended up leaving it in the main tank and after a couple of weeks the ulcer went away.

Yep, thats's what all the dwarf gouramis around me are like...I would love to get a couple more, especially a male as they can be stunning.

But I've had 4 dwarf gouramis die on me in the past when the water was perfect.
I have a single female now, but I made sure she had been at the store for a month with no problems before purchase  .

I'm really too scared to add another dwarf gourami because it could give her a disease :(.

As you say, they are lovely, but the death rate is just not worth it. I also made sure the fish I got had been in the store a long time. I lost another one yesterday. Now down to three females, all of which at present look healthy, no signs of ulcers, fungus or anything else. So maybe these few will survive. Not sure they'll survive my iminent move though. I know thay don't do stress very well, and the inevitable change in water conditions.
So yet again, if anyone would like to rehome my three females, rather than put them through the stress of moving, pm me. North Yorks, (and no I won't post them)
