Dwarf Gouramis

I know dwarfs are community fish, but do they really hide all day? I bought two last nite and they have been hiding behind my castle and a rock i have. My sunset/red flame has come out much more than the striped dwarf. I have a goldfish in there as well, who is doing fine with them and not bugging them. Does it just take a while for them to get used to the tank? None of my other fish had this much of a problem. Thanks!

Hi,

My Dwarf's were exactly the same - stayed in hiding for a while, then gradually settled themselves down and all was well, out and about around the tank. Think they're just a bit timid to begin with and need to adjust a bit more than others sometimes.

my male was never shy.. but the females were.. but then they died, so that might have something to do with it.

Well I put a blanket over the tank, they seem to be relaxing a little bit, they aren't hiding at all hours anymore. yay!
