Dwarf Gouramis Stealing Food!

Hi guys,

In my 2ft tank I have 2 Dwarf Gouramis, 4 Panda Corydoras and a juvenile BN plecostomus. The problem is that when I drop in my Tetra Tabimin tablets for the Corydoras the Gouramis peck at it even whilst my BN plec is sucking on it!
... they have received a tail whip or two from him in the past.

Will the Corydoras be ok? I have only been dropping in 1 tablet every other day, will they starve?

I've also got some Tetra Plecowafers which I specifically bought for the BN plec but he doesn't even try them? Are they actual Algae wafers or should I go get some Hikari Algae Wafers as there is literally no algae in the tank as it is fairly new so I don't want him to starve.

You have a lot of algae eating fish so feed them a tablet every day. Tablets don't tend to pollute water much, but judging by your fish they'll get eaten pretty quickly.

If you're worried about the corys not eating you can split a tablet into 2 and drop them in different parts of the tank to distract the other fish

I don't know about the plecowafers, but maybe the plec just doesn't see it? Try dropping it near him or his hiding place

I had this exact same worry about my Pygmys! I have Platys and they kept eating the tablets before they got the chance. I now use granuals which although the Platys still eat them, because it all floats they don't manage to get all of it and enough hits the floor for the Pygmys to get.

Also you could try dropping the tablets etc in at night when the lights are off. Chances are the Dwarfs won't see them!
