Dwarf Gouramis Missing Scales?

i have two dwarf gouramis, one flame and one coral blue, i think they are both male but have never seen them fighting. the coral blue has had a sore patch (not sure if there scales missing or not) on his side, but seemed to be acting normal so i left him. then i went away for a few days n when i came home i descoverd my female fighter dead (in another tank) and that my flame dwarf has a bog patch of scales missing on the top of his head? what could this be? they arnt in with any aggresive fish, an angel, glow light tetras, kuhli loaches and a common pleco. any info would be much appreciated.

Are you sure it's not a bacterial ifnection? Try an anti fungus and finrot med.
