Hi,

I have had my Dwarf Gourami (male) for around a month now and he is doing really well. Only thing is that just lately he has decided to rip up my Java Moss and build a bubble nest amongst the floating plants that I have in the top of my tank.

When doing water changes the nest has been disturbed and the Gourami will just rip up more of the Moss and re-construct the nest. The Java Moss has almost gone now so I will need to invest in some more.

Is this normal behaviour for a male Gourami? I would of expected it if a female was present however he is a bit of a "billy no mates".

yep perfectly normal. Try not to disturb his nest and maybe he'll destroy a bit less. You could try a floating ring of fake plant. He might build on that giving his nest some more stability. Hopefully it wouldn't get destroyed so easily.
