Hi my Dwarf gourami has been in my community tank for about 4 months. He had been healthy & happy.
I change 25% water every 2 weeks and do a quick poop scoop change of about 10% water change the other week.
I have been treating the water for parasites with Cupermine, I have been checking the copper level and has just been under .5mg/l.
Just over the last 2 weeks and noticably worse this week my Gourami has about 4 sores over him.
I treated the water with with octozin, a 3 day treatment.
Should I put him in a hospital tank? Or leave him in the community tank.
My last gourami died after having him in a hospital tank with the octozin treatment, he was pretty stressed, breathing hard and gave up after about 4 days.

I would really appreciate some advice on treating him.
Thanks

My community tank is 150lts. I have 6 platys, 6 congo tetras, 2 bolivian rams, 14 neon tetras and a kising gourami as tank mates. The water temp is about 27-28 cel, 80-82 f. PH about 6.5-7. Ammonia and nitrates are fine.

I would isolate it, and use a different treatment. I do not know octozin, but I have been using medicines containing acriflavine as active ingredients with success (you need to isolate the fish for that medicine. The sores are mostly caused by stress in dwarf gouramis (check whetheter the kissing gouramis is not making life hard on him as it is quite agressive!). Dwarf gouramis are prone to diseases caused by stress. If your gourami stops eating, there is no remedy anymore unfortunately. Don't give up as yet; I had a dwarf gourami that recovered completely, and another one that I keep isolated, and has been with the sores for 3 months now, and still going strong!

Good luck!
