So we recently purchased a dwarf gourami. This is my first gourami and I thought they it would be fine in our 5gallon tank. Well of course looking at more info on it, seems as though I was mistaken.
Now this isn't really a problem since we have a 29gallon it can go in to.
Right now, the gourami is only an inch long. Should I go ahead and move it to the larger tank? Or would it be ok to wait for it to grow a bit more?
I ask b/c although the 29 is a peaceful setup. Some of the fish already in it could pick on the gourami such as the German Blue Ram. It's not an overly aggressive fish or anything, but I know it sees the 29gal as ITS tank, ya know? And w/ the gourami's body being a similiar shape, wondering if that could cause problems? Like maybe the ram would think the gourami was another ram or something?
Oh AND as you can see from my sig, the 29gallon tank is already pretty well stocked which is also a reason why I'm just looking for advice on what to do.

Any advice & experience in this matter would be great.

Your Gourami should be fine with your GBR. Dwarf Gouramis normally occupy the middle-top of the tank while GBR are bottom dwellers. Plus your Gourami is only 1" long so I wouldn't expect him to be too aggressive with your other fish. Yes your 29G tank is well stocked but adding the Dwarf Gourami shouldn't be much of a problem. But there is no guarantee your gourami will get on with your other fish (if you have a feisty DG).

Alrighty. Thanks for the info :)
I think we're going to keep the gourami in the 5gal just a little bit longer before putting it in to the larger tank.
I'm sure the ram won't do any harm to the gourami, I've seen it chase before but I don't think it nips or anything.
