I have been cycled for 2 months maybe slightly longer. I did the fish in cycle. There is no white spots on it. It looks very pale in colour. It was feeding this morning and swimming normal. Tonight its on the bottom of the tank slightly on its side.

Try looking into Dwarf Gourami Disease. If he had it, then the virus will still be present in the tank if you put another dwarf gourami in there. A similar gourami who wouldn't catch the DGD would be a honey gourami, just watch out for the ones with "dwarf" in the name.

If it was DGD, which it very well could be, then you should do a few large water changes, as there have been reports that some other species of fish can catch it, Iand some have said that they can't, so it would be good to err on the side of caution. The fish-in-cycling probably weakend it too, dwarf gourami's are sensitive fish.
Sorry to hear about your loss, DG's are great fish.

The DG wasn't in the fish in process. It was added once my tank was cycled. Only had it over a month.

Sounds like DGD then, it typically strikes within a few months of aquiring the fish. Unfortunately, there's no precaution against preventing it other than avoiding dwarves altogether, though like DreamertK said honeys get to be about the same size and don't get DGD. You could also get a new one from a breeder, they'd be less likely to be infected. :) You'd still need to do some water changes to get it out of the tank though.
