I have 2 dwarf frogs in my tank and my son loves them. My question...I bought the frog bite food for them, but have noticed that my gouramis and butterfly fish love it and eat all of it before it can sink to the bottom for the frogs. I have tried feeding the fishies first and then waiting a bit until they are done eating before putting the frog bites in, but that doesn't seem to help, the fish still eat them. Every now and then I'll see a few frog bites actually sink down. Is this enough? Should I try something else? Any suggestions? don't want the poor things to die of starvation. Thanks
Sheila

I would have personally have had the frogs in a specialist only tank. If not for just the reason you describe. If you wanted to mix frogs and fish, maybe the fishes that you have in the same tank should be small mouthed fish.(small-not too small or they might be mistaken as food!)
I have only ever kept newts with sticklebacks, but the fish were able to hold their own.
Now I have a large tropical and have community fish in it. No amphibs.

I have mixed the dwarf frogs with fish quite often, always actually. I have even had Guaramis with the frogs. I find that feeding them either fresh frozen blood worms or freeze dried blood worms works, I find the fish and the frogs both eat. the frogs tend to swim up and eat the food, as well as with the blood worms some of them sink to the bottom while the fish are feeding on them and the frogs eat them. I find that the frogs eat more when I use the frozen blood worms probably because they sink as they are defrosting. Let me know if this helps at all.

I have always had frogs in my tank. I find it best to feed them either frozen blood worms or freeze dried blood worms. they sink to the bottom and the frogs get them as well as the fish. The frogs tend to eat more with the frozen blood worms as they sink faster as they are defrosting, let me know if that helps.

Hi Sheila :)

I keep my dwarf frogs  in a gallon jar, all by themselves. Although I started out with them in my fish tanks, I eventually decided that it was easier for me and safer for them to keep them alone.

ADFs are bottom feeders and do need to take some time to find their frog bites. They also love live or frozen worms, so try to get some down to them. :D
