Ok, no firemouths will get to large. Small rainbows Preacox or pseudomogil sp. would make a nice school. The only common barb I'd put in there would be cherries. Any cories or smaller loachs will also be good. Just be sure to go for 5+ on all of the above.

How about bosemani rainbows? Also are those with or without the bolivians?
Thanks for the help ;)

Your tank is too small for boesemannis. As thereverendturtle said for rainbows only the praecox (neon rainbows) or the pseudomogil but the latter are harder to get.

Think about the following:

bottom level: chichlids, loaches, or cories. You can keep a pair or trio of a small cichlid and either a small loach or a cory type

midlevel: your small rainbow, cherry barbs or tetras (no congos as these get too big), all shoaling fish

top/mid level: your mollies and platies.

That's it, no more space.

You could also call your local water company to find our the hardness of your water. Might be quicker....

Nice over view of possible stocking, I might stock my own to this description too, thanks

Ok so I've got:
Bottom level:
2 Bolivian rams
6-khuli loaches and 6 zebra loaches? (not sure if that's too many or not)
6 cories
Mid-level:
6-cherry barbs
Anything else?
Top level:
My mollies and platys.

6 loaches or 6 cories, not enough floor space for 12-18 bottom dwellers plus the pair of rams. As far as another mid level fish any smaller tetra will be fine.

Ok I like the khulis but I'm not sure what the zebras look like so, but I definitely want khulis.
And it's definitely too big for firemouths because onidrase said this earlier :/

Oh it was on a different thread but

A pair of firemouths could fit in a 20 gallon long

Ok it's on the thread called Firemouth. She said a 20 gallon long would be good for a breeding pair and nothing else, and others on that thread agreed with 30 gallons being good. :/ I know max size is 6 inches, so I guess my research was wrong if I cannot fit them in *sigh* :/

??? Just noticed that wasn't a smiley thing. Oops lol.

Anyone?
I'm going to bed. I'll check back in the morning.

I don't know exactly what your question is, but I assume it is about the firemouths. After browsing internet, most people seem to agree that you need an 80 cm (32 inch) tank minimum or between 25 - 30 gallons for a pair. Hope this answers your question.

Oops I took out the quote symbols and I should have put this thread here first.
Here is my question.
