Hello! So I bought some fish the other day. I now have 2 electric blue rams, 3 male guppies, 4 shrimp, and a bristle nose plec. Still my tank looks really empty. I got rocks and plants in there with sand substrate.

So, with all that, would I be able to add another 2 dwarf cichlids? the ones I have in mind are round, orange (sort of like a fat discus). Maybe a balloon dwarf. If anyone knows, let me know.
Would be a great help.

Anyway, if I add those, I was thinking a few more guppies and some sunset platys. Would this be a good stocking level, or too few or too much?

Maybe 6 tetra.

Filtration is good. I know it can hold a good amount of stocking. :)
Ph 6, give or take a little
Temp is 25 celsius/77F

Cheers all!

Okay what temp should I turn it up to? I'll do it now. its 120l 80x40x43cm.

I have lots of rocks to add if territory things are a problem.

You could add a shoal of a dozen or more bright tetras to add a bit of movement and colour. Less is more!

Yeah I was thinking maybe 10 neons or cardinals or anything nice. What do you mean less is more? :S

i would probably stick it on 27 degrees and see how you get on. Its a nice looking little tank, expect the two Amazon sword plants to die off so snip off the leaves as they get rotten, new leaves will grow in their place. I'd probably move them further apart too, they can grow big.

Cardinals would look nice in there, could easily have 20 and half a dozen Sterbai corys bombing around the bottom would be nice too :) If you do look at corys, dont get ones that prefer colder temps like bronze/albino.

:good:

couple of coconut caves would be great for the bristlenose and rams

By less is more I mean just because you have loads of space you don't need to fill it, tanks can look very effective with just a few fish of a few different types. Makes the individual fish stand out more. My tank is overstocked and I can't wait til nature thins it out a bit for me...

Okay I'll snip and move the amazons, thanks for letting me know. :) For the bottom I'm thinking 2 more rams and more shrimp, like tiger, cherry, green, blue etc.
And to soybean, thanks I don't want mine completely full, but just not dead empty either :good:

So with the temp up to 27, are tetras, platys and guppies still good for that?

Actually I have a coconut cave so I'll put that in. Going to put a lot more plants in to make it look nicer :)

I think Rams are okay (good choice getting electric blues!) but I'm not sure if Apistogramma species will tolerate the shrimp you bought. I could be wrong though. If I am, a pair of Apistogramma Hongsloi would be my choice :)
