Has anyone got any suggestions for a 64L planted tank with 4 dwarf neon rainbows (could be relocated) and a few cherry shrimp with soft water?

Checkerboard cichlids. Get a small group of 6 of them to start with then when 2 pair sell the other 4. If not a Trio (1 male, 2 females) of any type of Apistogramma would be fine, i personally would go for Apistogramma agassizii.

Microgeophagus ramirezi Male and Female pair, by that I mean a proven pair and not two individuals.

Apistogramma borellii is another favourite of mine also, as is A.honglsoi.

I would second the Checkerboards with some Ember Tetras that would be a nice tank :)

Or Laetacaras are always nice :)

Thankyou for all the replies.

A couple of those species need acidic water, my water is about 7.4 out the tap?

However, I really like the look of A. borellii, A honglsoi and Laetecaras, im not a fan of checkerboard really , but thankyou anyway :)

You can replicate their environment pretty easily using bogwood and peat, but for some domesticated species it isn't that necessary.

Almond leaves are good for lowering the Ph as well but in a small tank with internal filters peat is pretty manageable :)

The Hongsloi are quite a small species so would work pretty well :) if you find a local source where they have been bred in tap water that would be good for you as you could keep the young in the tap water but if you get wild maybe look into the peat and almond leaves.
