I was just curious on what is the difference in these two species of gouramis? I was told by someone they are both dwarfs but I'm thinking that's not quite the truth. Is one more peaceful than the other? THANKS.

They are 2 different species. The dwarf gourami is Colisa lalia, the honey gourami has had it's name changed a couple of times so you could see it as Colisa sota, Colisa chuna or Trichogaster chuna.
The common name that confuses me is honey dwarf gourami. Which one is that supposed to be?

As for peacefulness, Ive only ever had honey gourami, and the ones I've had over the years have been peaceful, both among themselves and towards other fish. When the males build bubblenests, the females usually have bits if tail missing, but mine have always healed quickly. If they lay eggs, the male chases away any fish that gets too near, but usually doesn't make contact, he just swerves at the last moment.

I picked up a honey gourami this past weekend with a few clown loaches and all seems to be great. At present time I have 2 tiny female betta's which are great together, they don't fight or even seem to know each other's there: 3 clown loaches 1 about 2 inches and 2 about 1 inch long and 1 honey gourami. I am cycling my 55 gal. at present time and in a few months will be moving my clowns in there, then when they get to large for my 55 my friend, boss, Doctor who has a 150 gallon will take them. You are right the honey seems to get along great with all the fish.
