Dropsy?

Hi

I have approx 6 neon tetras and 3 of them look very fat ! I cannot see any scales protruding amd they all swim and eat fine.All water stats are fine and the tank is well established.
Any idea what it could be..everynthiung looks fine? could it be they are just eatng too much?

Dropsy is unmistaken and ugly... You do not want that in your tank, so I hope (for your sake - and your fishes') that you do not see the "pinecone effect"... Does not sound like it atm... Like Sheilagh says... "Maybe some of the boys are girls"....

They have looked like this for a few weeks now.....I dont think they are pregnant !
Ive read that Interpet provide some medication-called anti internal bacteria treatment no 9...for dropsy
has anybody used this before and is it worth having a go?

Do I leave them alone or remove them? will they affect the other fish in the tank? Can they catch it?

Ozzy... Will they be affected with what??? and will they catch what??.... As I and Sheilagh said.... it is likely that there is nothing wrong with your fish... If it was Dropsy, the scales would certainly have protruded by now... (as you say "They have looked like this for a few weeks now.....") and you also say "and they all swim and eat fine".....

Do not worry if there is no cause to worry
