Drip Plate Filter

Hi I am new at this so I am sure I am about to post a stupid question
I have a 100L tank with a drip plate filter and I was wondering if that's the right kind to start a planted tank with.

Drip Plate? - do you mean a Wet/Dry filter??

If so it wouldn't be suited to a planted tank. Most of your C02 would be lost.
