this look like a good piece to put in fish tank if i let it sit in water for a week and then boil it

Hi there,

Its so hard to tell from pics but to my eye that wood looks like it still has bark and just doesn't have the normal "dried out" look. Its important that (driftwood, bogwood, mopani) be completely dried out as you don't want young wood that still has sap and other organics leaching out I believe.

But again, its hard to tell, could be completely dry and just need the bark to come off. (that's another worry, come to think of it, that the bark will break down and float all over your tank, clogging your mechanical media.)

i cut it out the ground from dead tree it was sticking out in my backyard and now its soaking in bucket water i had bad luck with the pictures i will try and put some better ones up
 
updated pictures its heavier after being in water for 24 hours dont seem to be changing the color of the water in the bucket at all either
does it have to be completly underwater or can i just switch sides every day

everybody agree this is a improvement from it sticking half way out and its not changing the color the water in the bucket and its been 24 hours weriod

there alot dog hair in that tub darn it lol i guess i was wood off afterwards

if its not changing the color the bucket should i just tie it down in the tank and see wut happens
