I have a long 20g with the fish that you see in my sig. Well I was wondering what would be better for my pleco to hide in driftwood or bogwood? The reason I want to know is because he needs a spot where he can eat his food in peace with out the tetras eat at his food while he is trying to eat it.

You should have bogwood in the tank anyway for the plec to chew on. Though when he gets a bit bigger he wont be needing that so much and will be looking for more in the way of protein.
Get something that has a big gap under it so he can get his whole body under, but you have to get something that has a big space as he is growing all the time.

They do, but it's quite expensive. You should head to a garden store, they may have nice, big pieces for a cheaper price.

Sorry guys for all the questions it's just that I've never used this stuff before. I might just look for some atrifical piece of driftwood or something that this pleco can hide in when he is eating or wants to get away from all the activity in the tank. Thanks guys.

Ive seen HUGE bits of "driftwood" in my local garden center (Dobbies in Ayr, scotland) but wasnt sure if it could be used in a tank, it was for sale in the aquatics dept but it is linked to the garden section and had lots of 'garden related' items around it so I wasnt sure but it was about £50 but it was a HUGE twisting piece, maybe 4ft high and about 2.5ft at its widest part.

Most pet shops sell Mopwani wood (usually light on one side and dark brown on the other) rather than bogwood but there are a few good shops in Glasgow sell both.

I founds bogwood in my local fish store and my common plecos love. You've probably already been tol this but your common pleco will need a much bigger tank very soon.
:D

Yep I already know and am looking for a 45g or a 55g and have already posted it in the buy, sell, swap section but no one has replied yet. :/

O ya, if you use bogwood, make sure to boil it first so it does not stain your tank water.

Try ebay, i get all my bits from there.
