driftwood has so many advantages in your aquarium.not only it lowers ph of your aquarium but also it enhance to combine good bacteria for your tank...the driftwood you see here and there cannot use direct.. you have to go for 1 month cycle process...at first collect the driftwood and then keep in a larger tank where this driftwood can completely inside the tank..you can use a rod or brick to put inside the tank..because at first this driftwwod cann't put inside the water because of its density..moreover you can see that lots of wastes from that wood comes out..you can change the water of that tank in every 4 days...with in 20 days you find that this driftwood completely inside that tank..then you can take that brick or rod of that tank...moreover you should use KMNO4 to disinsecticides it..or boil in hot water....from first few days the regins comes out rapidly form that wood...so you find the colour of the water becomes brownish...when this brownish colour change and after 30 days you find that the wood is completely inside the tank....then you again boil it and then you can keep in your aquarium....
