Drift Wood Questions

It is my understanding that drift wood can low ph as well and kh and make water slightly more acidic. I want to add a piece to my 20 gal (in profile) and was curious if they all break down the same way and have the same effects on the water.

All wood is a little different, not just driftwood. You can get some pieces from the same batch, some will leach more tannins, some less.
