Aloha, everybody!

I lost one of my ickle panda cory's today and am most agrieved. He has been cremated and ashes scattered. I have decided I hate all my other fish and will be setting up a tank consisting exclusively of non-live-bearing fish. Platties, swordtails and guppies willl be leaving. Neon Tetras, Cloud Minnows and Plec will be staying. Arnie the Siamese Fighter will be moving in.

Some Quick Questions (which are more opinion poll than plea for advice)

It is a 30 gallon tank, would you retain fluval 4 filter and add fluval 1 filter as backup?

Create some more cory caves?

Add More plants?

Create a special 'high rise' cave for my Betta so he can sleep close to the surface?

Where should my lovely red tailed sharky go?

Here are some Pictures of my current set up

Ta very Much folks

Yes to all questions. Anything that will benefit your fish is good to do - extra filtration and cover are always good for your fish.

As for the RTBS, I'd move it to another tank (maybe the one you are currently cycling?) and make shure you stock with fish that can handle its possible aggression and no shark-like tankmates or very small fish.

Sounds fine, though red tailed sharks really need a 40 gal tank, wouldn't bother with a fluval one filter maybe go for a fluval two as a back up filter, as the fluval one is really small and you can't hardly get any sponge in it, i just use it for a hospital and guarantine tank.
