i have had my dragon goby in freshwater for some time now, but i have now put him into brackish and was wondering if the goby would be ok in 1.006 salinity?

Where are you located? The are two species commonly labeled as Dragon Goby which include Gobioides broussonnetii and Gobioides peruanus. G. broussonetii is usually imported into the US, the later is usually imported into the UK and the rest of Europe. G. broussonetii is a brackish to marine water fish, accepting a SG of 1.005 to full marine (although they can be found in freshwater but they do not fare well in freshwater in captivity). G. peruanus is a freshwater to brackish water, it should accept hard, alkaline freshwater up to brackish water with a SG up to 1.005. If you can properly identify your species than I can give a certain answer, although 1.006 should be fine for both species.

he is a Gobioides broussonnetii, thanks for the help :D

AMS is right about there being multiple species, but that said, 1.006 will be fine for all species, and 1.010 may even be better. That said, I'd adapt the water slowly. I'm not sure that there fish like rapid changes in salinity. I suspect they stay in the mud most of the time rather than move up and down the estuary. So they might not be quite so adaptable as, say, a scat or mono.

Cheers,

Neale
