Because my 1 gallon tank sprung a leak, I thought I would get Fred a 2.5 gallon tank. You all know how it is buy a new tank you have to get new things for the tank. So..... Fred's old tank didn't have a heater, so I bought him one. Long story short......Fred had always been kind of mellow. Due to the fact Fred is my first betta. I thought that was just how he was. Anyway the morning after I put the heater in his new tank, I thought somebody switched fish with me! Fred went from being mellow and laid back, to charging the tank and flaring at me. Little poop. Now he flares at everything. What a silly boy!!!

Yeah at low temperatures, bettas are generally lethargic. Higher temperatures make them more active so long as its not too high.

I bought a heater that is set to 78 degrees. This way I can't set it to high. Trust me my poor care of Fred was not intentional. I know that doesn't help, but I wouldn't do anything to hurt Fred or any other animal. He is a funny boy. I am glad I didn't hurt it.
