ok so one of the fish shops says they will take any size fry at any time.....to grow out and sell I was told, so to make a long story short I dropped off 5 month old platies and 6 new guppys, they guy said, oh these are tiny you dont want to grow them some more for me do ya, I said no as I dont have much space, he said that was fine, he had the extra tanks. I thanked him and went to look around, and the guy I guess thought I had left the store (because Im short and he couldnt see me) walks over to the tanks and dumps my babies into the angelfish tank.....

I know I gave them away, they were his to deal with, but I cant help bt be realy mad, cause I took the time and effort to save thoses babies and he turned around and used them as food.....grrrr

will not be going there again....

I raise mine until at least 3/4 size before I give them to the LFS. They don't have anything big enough to eat them.

my problem runs to dear husband not wanting more tanks around.....he is annoyed the 5 gallon is up and running...also cause its in the living room. and also not having the extra tanks and equipment, if I could find some old tanks to repair and some used filters and heaters I would just put all the extra tanks in a spare room.....theyd just be fry not that super interesting to guests, and leave the nice tank with the adults out in the living room.

equipment is just super super expensive to come by around here. Id even take tanks that needed repairs, but it is not garage or yard sale season, and my local craigs list has nothing, and ebay is nearly all pickup only....and im not driving to ca for a tank.

oh well my rant for the day.
