Hi all,

I have been keeping Kribensis for nearly 8 months now and have successfully bred 2 batches of Kribs. The first saw 53 healthy swiming babies and the last which i sold yesterday saw 38 babies happily swim away. I also sold the mother and the father.

I have been researching online for fish that are slightly more harder to breed and I have stumbled accross this species that I read about online.

I have bought a breeding pair and am hopefully looking to breed them and experience the new joys of fish keeping.

Has anyone kept these before and if so any tips?

Regards,

Apistogramma cacatuoides are not a whole lot more difficult, or different from breeding kribs in my experiences. They do like a more meaty diet, and water around 82F. Once conditioned for breeding some cooler water changes should trigger spawning. The tank is set up the same as for breeding kribs, some caves & such, some hidden areas, and a few plants. I've bred both in 20 gallon tanks.

As with the fry of many species, freshly hatched bbs help with the survival & growth of fry.

Awsome thanks for the responses.

I have since added more plants to my tank and have also added another floating plant. I am hoping to successfully breed these and sell them to my lfs to fund my marine tank :)

Cheers
