hi

i have a 4 ft tank so think lights are 42"

I have the old style light not the new flash ones. (T8's i think) starter is a glomat.

I have a double started unit the lights have been working fine but now when i turn the lights on they stay on for about a minute then go off. (no flashing)

if one bulb blows will this cause this issue or will the working light come on ?

how can i tell if the unit or the lights are at fault without buying 2 new bulbs or a new started.

any help would be good.

Hello,

Can you give any further details regarding the ballast fitted (part number, wiring schematic, piccy of the ballast etc.)

Is the light fitting original to the tank (manufacturer fitted)? or added later?

See http://nemesis.lones...nt/trouble.html for some basic info.

I'm guessing that the ballast is failing, but it could certainly be one (or both tubes) reaching end of life.

It all depends on the type of ballast that is fitted as to what the typical failure symptoms may be.

Could you provide some pictures of your lights etc. and I'll see if I can get any clues from them.
