My female betta developed a bacterial infection apparently overnight - it's a pinkish sore. She is acting fine and eating normally. I bought Waterlife Myaxin on the reccommendation of my LFS owner.
I'm proud to say I've never had to use strong meds on my bettas before - they've never developed a problem like this.

I'm supposed to use one drop per litre, but am I supposed to do a partial waterchange tomorrow with the Myaxin again?
I'm confused :(

Havent used myaxin on bettas but have on others, I never did a water change until the end of the course (5 days if I remeber correctly). Be careful not to overdose though as i was warned it would effect the bacteria.

The sore does it have a circling of dead white skin around the edges, if so its an ulcer.
I would of gone with anti internal bacteria med by interpet.
Uk over the counter meds are not strong.
They are only good on mild bacteria infections which are caught early enough.

Thought myxazin was a five day treatment.
Follow the instuctions.
Think you only do a water change after treatment.
If you do have to preform a water change you just add the correct amount of med back to the
water removed.
Don't forget to increase aeration in the tank as meds reduce 02 in the water.
Also remove black carbon if you use it.
