Dose Anyone Know?

EI? i dont know whatever its called (same one as your doing dry ferts)

and ouch ian... and thats the less conc version! :(

when did that happen?

I can get it, and don't. It would probably work, but getting it without any of the usual cleaning stuff in it means you get higher concentrations, which aren't all that safe to work with, especially over time.

does it react with water?... cos you could dilute it as soon as you got it. making it safer to work with

thanks. =] i looked under water parameters must of missed it :(

i agree mint =] the aqua essentials is the same conc as easy carbo (just did the maths) there both 0.02ml/L (i think) or something like that but the aqua essentials is cheaper (thanks for the heads up). they also do larger bottles. does this stuff have a sell by date?

2L would last 1666 days?(4 years?) on a 60L tank? of the aqua carbon from aqua essentials?

edit: does moss's, riccia and HC use the liquid carbon or is it just a waste if i have them in the tank?

cant find any use by date on my nourish or nourish + from AE but i dont use the liquid carbon. wouldnt have thought it would expire though unless you leave it in direct sun or with the cap off

I'd either use actual CO2 or no carbon additive at all. Excel is okay short term if you need to get a hold of a bad algae outbreak. I'd never use easycarbo or excel long term though. I don't care for their toxicity and also the fact that they are completely unnatural.

thanks for the info. ideally id use pressurized CO2 (FE method) but that much money is an issue for me.
so i was looking at the cheaper option for a small tank =]

In which case I would go with no carbon additives. Just stock heavy and have medium light levels. You don't need carbon addition to have a nice dense and lush tank. Only thing it really effects is growth rate and how often you have to prune.

he needs some carbon addition with his lighting...the Carbo's are fine, but they are safe long term. The halflife of glutaraldehyde in water is around 12 hours and is in fact an organic compound. IMO you need to invest in some if you're not getting pressurised. The AE stuff looks like a good deal. :good:

if they half life is 12 hours id want to dose in the mornings? or just after i got back from collage? (lights are split at the moment 7-9, 16-23). im normally in a rush in the mornings (i like my bed) so would dosing at 4-5 PM be good?

dosing in the morning is normally good enough. :good:

what are the type of lights and wpg? I've run some pretty tanks in medium-high light without much or any carbon additives. I do have and use pressuried CO2 on some tanks, but I'm really good at doing it really irregularly lol.

IMO if your gonna be depending on something like easycarbo over a long period, your better off just dealling with the expenses of pressurized. Pressurized at least has low upkeep costs. How long before the cost of easycarbo equals a DIY pressurized system?
