Try to get the 10 gallon kit... it's a little bigger but definately going to be worth it. If not he eclipse 7.5 gal (i think) would be an alright option... and even then you would only be able to keep 3 barbs... I would take the barbs back personally, petco is good about fish returns. Petco has guppies on sale this week so I would pick up a couple of those and they also have dwarf frogs for a dollar each too. Take the credit and buy a different tank if you can. It will be much easier for you B)

just think about returning the fish and go from there if you get a different tank or not. whether you exchange your tank for a dif. one or keep the same one, focus on cycling the tank before getting any fish involved.

I forgot what kind of price there was on the7.5 g, but a 10g couldn't be to much more.... make sure you have something strong to support either one.


Also, with the single barb in a new tank, ( the combination of the tank cycling and the fish being by itself) - I would ask that same petco employee if they sell anti-depressents for the fish as well j/k. guppies are neat little fish to watch - and I would imagine petco woud have some pretty guppies to select from.
