I have a 55 gallon Malawi fish tank with 10 4-5 inches each. they all seem healthy with little agression. there are two problems. one is that there is constantly algea growing on my honeycomb rocks that i cant get off. i have an albino bristlenose pleco but hes still young and does very little. what can i do to stop the algea? the other problem is that there is this white roundish-stringy like stuff thats growing on the sides of all the glass. what is this and is it harmful. the tank has been running for 5months. monthly water change and 2 50 gallon filters running. please help me becausde i need to know what to do with the algea and the stuff on the sides of my glass tank.

IF YOU CAN HELP I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT

what kinda of lighting conditions does your tank have? more then likely you keep your tank light on all the time, or you have the tank in direct sunlight. maybe both. if you turn your tank light off the algea won't be as bad.

the stringy stuff I have no idea. might be the glue? I'd recommend doing a water change every weekend or 2 weeks. I personally wouldn't be able to go a month without changing my water. itd kill me to wait that long.

Have your lights on for 4hrs off for 1 to break up the growth pattern of the algea. You need to be doing 20-25% water changes weekly mbuna are messy fish so weekly is really needed also you do not have enough filtration you need to turn your tank over 5 times an hour.
