I am looking to breed angelfish. My question is should I get 5 or 6 silverdollar size angels so they can pair off or should I get a proven pair? Also whenever I look online to buy angelfish it will either say quarter size, half dollar size, or silver dollar size. How big are these, like in inches? And are quarter size angel big enough to breed?

I'm guessing you are in the states. If so the sizes refer roughly to the sizes of the coins that are mentioned. Simply measure the coins!
You choice depends on if you want action NOW! or are willing for nature to take its course.
Not sure on when they start breeding though.

Also remember that you will need a lot of space to grow out the fry - probably 200+ gallons. Do you have someone that will take the fish off you when they're old enough?

I havn't seen any pairing behavior in angels that small, they are at least half dollar size before they show any signs of pairing. Maturity goes by age, not size.

Buying a proven pair means they successfully spawned for someone else, that doesn't guarantee they will spawn for you. They could also be an older pair that is near the end of their breeding career. http://www.angelsplus.com/index.htm sometimes sells pairs, tall dollars. Steve is one of the few people I would trust buying fish from online, especially a pair.

I'm cheap, I would buy 6 smaller angels, & let nature take it's course.
