I have two tanks currently set up a 2ft and a 3ft
Im swapping the 2ft for another 3ft

but problem is in my top tank it has neon tetras and a bristlenose Catfish
Bottom tank has a RTBS,

Now I need to move him up top so I can get the 2ft swapped and start cycling the new tank,
But am so worried about him and the tetras

and you should be, there's a fairly strong chance he'll eat/bully them, they are not compatible fish. simple answer is you can't put them into a tank together.

however you don't need to cycle the new tank, it's the filter that cycles not the tank, and you already have a cycled filter, here's what you should do.

remove all fish from the 2ft tank, put them in buckets or something with tank water in, they'll be ok for a few hrs
turn off all filters, heaters etc on 2ft tank
take the filter and if it;s internal put it in a bucket of tank water, if it's external just don't drain it, leave it with water in
empty 2ft tank and remove it, put 3ft tank in it's place and fill it with brand new dechlorinated water to about two thirds full
hook up the old filter on the new tank and turn it on
hook up the rest of the equipment and turn on
when the water has got to the right temp you can put the fish in.

new tank will remain cycled because it's got the old filter on it. :good:

Yip, completely agree with Miss Wiggle. I moved 3 tanks in one day and that was how I done it. (Wasn't teh best day of my life), however it all went smoothly and didn't lose a single fish.
