I've been cycling my tank for about 36 days. I've got an internal filter with the media that came with it and some media jammed in from a LFS. I've got a mate who recently got a new tank set up. He's asked me if I can donate some media to him. My question Is, would it be pointless giving him my media if it's not fully cycled yet (it's processing ammonia in 12 hour but not yet built up nitrite processing bacteria) and also will it stall my cycle? Would the media that came with the filter have sufficient bacteria on it now or do I have to leave the donated media in until the cycle is finished? Thanks

There would not be much point. It takes around six weeks or more for the bacteria to grow and even then it is not stable. As you say could elongate your cycle. I personally would not donate media until the tank had been set up for six months minimum so all is stable.
