take a dinghy with you to be safe
it did cross my mind

and ive picked up the van already today

dunno how current it is, but there's a government online flood map here
will take a look at it :good:
but does anyone know if the following raods/areas are flooded?

southampton M27
Eastleigh M£
Winchester M3
Whitchurch A34
Newbury
Chieveley A34
Harwell A34
Ablington A34
Oxford
Wheatley M40

this is a route i have found that bypasses some of the areas i know of already but might get a problem at Newbury as stated above.

I've just been down the M3, m25 to junction 12 no probs (just got back about 20 mins ago), little bit of rain but no floods to speak of. Hope this is the route your taking. I supose your going the other way, but nothing to say there was any floods. Also had a look at the Highways agency computer thingy at the services and the M3 looked clear all the way, also surrounding roads looked clear on their computer.

EDIT, i was in the winchester area and it was clear.

yeah i will try my damn hardest to get there :good:

I dunno if you have tomtom, but their traffic service is decent. We have so far escaped flooding here (touch wood) so I haven't seen anything mentioned on my travels with the TT traffic to verify its effectiveness.
