Mine does! They'll buy them from you and will give you a store credit! Maybe breeding will get me some fishy funds....hmmm. Well, does your LFS buy fish from you?

I know of one that does, but it only pays for a qaurter of what they can re-sell them for. Its the only one I've ever heard of in my area that'll buy fish from a person.

One will take them 'off your hands' but not give you anything for them, and one will buy them for half what they'll sell them for, but its not a shop I'd buy from, so I don't bother. Bit awkward really. Most say they have suppliers and are not interested.

yep 1/4 resell price for store credit. Very nice when you have a fish who's outgrown his home or you know someone who does.

All the time, a couple are more my customers than I am theirs. Breeding helps cover many of the costs associated with fish, but don't quit your day job.

place near me does. thank gawd. cause im gonna have around 50+ african fry here real real soon.

i'll be raising them for awile though

Most of them will around us, 2 depends if it's something they normally carry, the other one will pay for ones they want and the rest will take if you can't find anywhere else to take them.

the one I work in, depending on species, pays half what we sell it for.
we do not buy guppies, mollies etc but will take them from people.

Maidenhead aquatics took my 2 large angel fish from me for £4 each, 1/3 of what they sell for. That's all that i've taken back, i know they accept guppies etc but not sure if they pay for them.

Ditto and agreed. Not so much of an income as a way of lowering the costs of a hobby IMO. All the lfs near me know me pretty well and all but one buy fish. The other has a strict supplier only policy which is fair enough I guess although if they were to buy fish I could give them alot more varied things than the "bread and butter" fish they stock. All up though, the place which doesn't buy fish is my favourite and most frequented store due to the amount of blackworms I get for my buck every fortnight and they have cheap driftwood as well.

I mostly frequent only one of the other stores when I sell fish because they give me a better price in general than the others. They always take anything I bring them as they know that I look after my fish well and they are always robust. Most of the time any fish I bring in goes straight into an "on hold" tank before being taken home by an employee that night

I usually throw my LFS a batch of (easy for beginner) type killifish every now and then in return for some blocks of frozen food.

they gave me store credits when i got rid of my 100+ mollies. :good:

i have to local LFS one will take them off of you but no store credit. the othere one is my favorite as you can get some good stuff for them. once a month i well give them a batch of 30-40 krib babies for twenty quid or 30 quid in store credit. so i can basically stock up on foods, filter media, other equipment and i will get a fish if there is anything intresting.
just got to hope the kribs keep on breeding. :D
