I'm after a big 8ft tank or 7 ft and seen these advertied. any idea how much filters hoods and moderate lights would cost. its for clown knife eels and bichirs

Personally i would look for a better deal, you can get great secondhand ones with all the acessories you need for cheap..

I got a juwel tank 48"x12"18" with hood, built in light, built in filter, heater, pump, loads of fish, plants, ornaments, nets, food, test kits and lots more for £40 second hand and its the best buy i ever got on a tank.. (infact the tank is in my sig)

i sold the fish as well so it only ended up costing me £25 :lol:

thats a great deal, especially if they are serious about their guarentee

right now, if i could fit one in my flat, and lived closer to Yorks i would be thinking about it myself!

I am assuming the tanks are brand new

Well as for the hood, thats down to if you want it cheap and cheerful or not, be worth getting friendly with someone that could make you one.

Lights, not sure.

Filtration, well x2 of the biggest you can get hold of i guess, but deffo two filters for a tank that size, even if one filter states it can handle the load, i personally dont have any less than two filters on any tank over 3 foot! Like some back up

What about x2 Fluval FX5 maybe too much? and would be pricey

An expensive Eheim Pro3 and a cheaper Eheim Pro 2?

Thats a great deal. You would struggle to find a second hand tank that size, for that price, even second hand. I've been doing a lot of searching on the internet lately and have not seen any thatsize, i've seen 6ft and 7ft tanks, but there going for 300+. I saw a 12ft and the guy wanted £1500. Go for it.

at those prices i would rarther get my own stand or make one, but for new tank only, prices are reasonable, thats what i keep hearing

I may be getting a a tank for free, fingers crossed. Someone was offering one on freecycle so i've gone for it. Probably loads of people going for it but you never know. Those prices look alright though. Not sure about making my own cabinet though, i'm not the best when it comes to hammers and nails lol!!!!

good stuff . I have been trwling ads for ages but if I can convince the Mrs about this I may as well go for a big tank and get everything in it!!!!

I think it would look ace with the clown knife 2 fire eels ornate bichir BGK and the plecs I have.mmmm better by the mrs some flowers!!

i agree. i got a 260lt vision tank with hood 3xspear bulbs, filter for £15. lovly job :good:
