what your gonna do with it is gonna influence weather it needs a heater. but it doesn't come with one so if your gonna keep tropicals then yes you will need one.

no sign of ours either, but as we were just told it'd come 'before xmas' it's more likely to be dec, than nov.

i think a 25 w should do that tank nocely. and yes if your keeping tropicals you will need a heater

we nede to have a serious think about stocking, just dunno who's gonna get the tank

the contestants are

sardinia, the very pretty girly betta we picked up last week
rincewnd, Ian's betta who could do with a lovely swish tank
only problem is Ian wants to do it planted and how he wants to do it wouldn't be the best set up for a betta
apistogramma cacatuoides, ours aren't doing to well in the community tank cos of the competition for food, but the 5g is probably a little small for them long term
endlers, we lost all bar 1 of the boys when the tank burst a little while ago, got 2 preggers girls in the community tank though so maybe put them in it so we can keep some young and get our stock of males back up
galaxy microrasboras, not got any but ideally Ian would love to do it as planted with those in, but with other fish needing a better home I just don't know if we should give it to the needy!

At least you're getting one... I put in big hints to the b/f for my birthday in Oct, he took the hint and ordered it from the great magazines website but not using the link I gave him... result I have a six month subscription (yeay! ) Plus one free gift wrapped issue but no Tank

I think what was most amusing was that he was convinced I'd get the tank because he'd ordered it before the cut-off point and everthing

The arrival of this one will be the 5th, possibly 6th tank in our house! O. Bumble bee goby tank apparently, anyone seen any in the Essex/ London area? We've been keeping our eyes peeled but not found any yet.

As for the heater, a 25w should do nicely
