i noticed a small stringy yellowish thing in one of my ghost shrimp the day i got him. i just thought it was his digestive tract...but now a couple of weeks later, its almost to his tail. its all long and curled up and stuff...kinda gross.

anybody have experience with this??

Has the strimp passed the yellow thing yet.

no it hasnt...its crazy...the stringy thing goes around his head does a few loops in the stomach area and goes clear down to almost the end of the tail. i guess if he dies he dies right?? lol i was just curious and hope that if he does die, the worm doesnt find another host.

Remove the strimp from the tank and issolate it.
So it does look like a parasite.
I would also post this thread in tropical discussion as loads of members keep strimps over there, will advise you what to do.
I know nothing about strimps.

That looks gross copy this thread and add pics and go over to tropical discussion.

I agree with Wilder, I would isolate it if you can... especially if it look like the ones in the pictures susankat has posted. If it does die there is a good chance the other shrimp will try and eat the corpse so could get infected.

The shrimp will definitely the shrimp will die, that one did. As suggested I would isolate it to a bowl or something by itself.

wow that first picture is it for sure!!! its all up in my shrimps head and stuff, its amazing hes acting fine. maybe the worm is controlling him (haha). anyway, im going to take him out and see what he does.

thanks so much guys. i have pics but u cant tell or id post them
