Does Fish Food Go Off?

I have been rummaging this morning for an empty food pot and found an unopened tub of Tetramin (must have come with a tank I bought) the best before date on the bottom is 08/09. I buy all my food in bulk and was wondering was it worth adding it to my bag of flake or just bin it?

It does indeed go off once opened as oxygen in the air will allow bacteria to start breaking down the food.

In terms of unopened food, I wouldn't usually chance it for a tub that old, with human food we can tell if it's off by smell, colour etc, but fish food is a whole different kettle.

bin it, not worth the risk star4. Even if mixing with other food, for the price of a couple of £ I wouldn't run the risk of making your lovely fish ill!
