Does anyone know if these are any good?

I Got a new filter today, its a FLUVAL 3+ apparently its the new model. Any one know if they are any good? Is also got HAGEN on the box.

I have a fluval4+
as far as internals go, proberbly the best on the UK market.

depends what size your tank is.

what are the dimensions?

3+ are for tanks up to 90cm/3 feet long

Yes its a 3ft tank

then you should be fine.

keep an eye on things though...you may want to invest in another filter at some stage to increase water purity and also as a back up in case your 3+ goes kaputt for any reason.

i currently only have a fluval 203 external canister for my 30 gallon. its doing a good job (water is crystal ) but am gonna get mself a 3+ aswell in the next couple of weeks for the reasons mentioned above.

I have still got 2 box filters running at the same time as the fluval just to get things going, gut i'll take 1 or both out after seeing how things go

yep Fluval are good filters i have the Fluval 2 running in my 2 ft tank i'm contempting another Fluval 2 as my readings for water chemistry are up and down. Think it's the filteration system letting me down.

Would it be a better idea to leave a box filter in there?

I use fluval as back up filters, quite good, just sometimes hard to pull the cartridge box away from the filter,especially on the 4+.

a new Eheim 2210 has just arrived on my desk, cant wait to plug it in and get things going, has 3 compartments, exactly what i wanted
