I've got a male and a female golden wonder pnachax and I would like to know how to breed them. I have tried putting them into a breedernet with heeps of plants but proved unsuccesful. I have a small green lidded, plastic tank but I don't know if it is the right size for them. I am not allowed to by another tank, because my parents won't let me. So if anyone knows how to breed them, if they would please tell me. Thank you.

Breeding Golden Wonders Aplochelius lineatus Gold. (My Way)
So you are attempting to breed Aplochelius lineatus Gold. I would give the pair a tank of their own 18x10x10. The tank being bare except for a small air driven sponge filter, heater set to 75'F and a couple of acrylic yarn spawning mops. http://www.aquarticles.com/articles/breedi...awning_Mop.html
only 3/4 fill the tank and provide a tight fitting lid as these killifish will jump. The water is soft and slightly acidic with a pH of 6.8. The male will drive the female into the mops and adopt a stance alongside the female, the pair will then form an "S" shaped pose as the male squeezes the female into the fibres of the mop. This is followed by a slight jerk and a single egg is deposited and fertilised, then the pair release only to start the process over and over again.
The eggs are quite large and can withstand a fair degree of handling. Pick the eggs from the mops daily ( gently, with your fingers). and place them in a margarine tub, floated in the parent tank. Remove fungussed/unfertilised eggs daily. the fry will hatch in or around 10-14 days. They are quite large and can take newly hatched brineshrimp and microworm from the outset. Keep the adults well fed (livefoods, frozen and flake) and keep their tank clean, removing any uneaten food on a daily basis. Water changes are also an essential part of killifish husbandry and I like to change about 1/3 of the water weekly.
These fish are quite a large species easily attaining 3-4 inches in the home aquaria, they are predatory by nature, so please do not combine them with small tetras or danios etc.
I cull the runts and slower growing fishes for the simple reason of maintaing good solid stock, the smaller ones will only be bullied and subsequently killed by the larger ones. When the fry are starting to sex out you will notice a fair amount of squabbling, especially amongst the males. Take out the females and rear these seperately.
This is a nice species to breed for the novice killifish enthuasist, they present little or no problems in maintaining, breeding and the rearing of fry and present a stepping stone to go on and attempt some of the more exotic species.
I hope this was of some help to you in some form or other.

Thanks for the tips on how to breed them but I am not allowed to get some of the things like: filter, heater and some other things because my parents won't allow me to. I also don't have and know what a spawning mop is, :( I also don't know how to make the water soft and acidic, can I feed the young flake food after they have hatched? Can I use anything else other then acrylic spawning mops? :) Anyway, Thanks for the tips and other information that you got and told me.

Nadsuko, My Golden wonder panchax sizes are: Male:4 inches, Female:2-3 inches. My female is one that I got after males former partner died.

Where abouts do you live that you don't need or are not allowed a heater/stat.

:/ I can't tell you where I live but I can tell what has happened. My dad said yes that I could try to breed them but turned around 30 mins later and said no. Can I use anything else other then acrylic to make a spawning mop? Wool, string anything else? -_-

Anything synthetic (man made) fibre, but boil it first,
I cannot see for the life of me why you dad wont let you buy a ball of wool (50p) and a few corks. Strange!

:D I have made a spawning mop out of wool but I have no cork to put o it. I have also placed it in the breeding box with both my male and female but they don't seem to be breeding. The female sits under the mop and the male sit above the mop, they don't seem to be eating either. Is there anything wrong with them? :( I feed them flake and pellets, do I need to feed them live food to get them to breed? Can they breed with heaps of fish outside the breder net?

Get them out of that breeding trap and follow the instructions I have already given you, if you are really intent on breeding these. I've done it and very sucessfully so I know what I'm talking about personally.
Aplochelius lineatus are top spawners therefore attach the mop to something that floats ie: a small block of polystyrene. Live food is not essential but benificial, the next best option is frozen. (bloodworm, brineshrimp, daphnia & tubifex) If you are really careful and using a pair of tweezers you can suspend single frozen bloodworm on the water surface using the waters natural tension whereby they are avidly taken by the fish.

I would say you need a heater/stat unless you are gifted and live in a hot climate. The filter is desireable but not essential.

I have got my female in a 32, 17, 22 cm tank. I have recently found a fungus on my females lower jaw and around her tale and so I have put her in early to quantine her and then put the male in. She seems to be doing fine so far but, she does not eat alot  . :/ I think it's because that she is not in with the other fish and the male. Is there anything wrong with her. :(

:D My male Golden Wonder Panchax is really showing off now,[since my female has gotten fatter], and he tried pushing her down into the mops but, it turned into a chase of love. He has got heaps of gold and it has brightened lately and has spread all the way to the tip of his jaw. I think there is something wrong with him beacause he is only ocassionaly eating but rarley :-( .
