Does anyone have a record of fishless cycling?

Basically what i am trying to find out is if the ammonia will constantly rise as ammonia is added or just to keep it at 5ppm average until a nitrite spike appears.

I've heard it's suppose to stay constant until the nitrike spikes. Whatever makes your reading 5ppm your suppose to keep with that till it spikes. Then when it does you cut the amount your using in half. Then I believe you stop using ammonia once the nitrite gets back to 0ppm.

If you're starting from scratch, you need to add ammonia to get it to about 3 or 4ppm and then DON'T add any more until it drops! There's no need!
