I want to inject the CO2 straight into the inlet tube of my filter, and after reading different threads I came up with this.

The main water flow tube has a hole drilled into it. The extra bit of green tube is glued around the hole. The CO2 is pushed just into the hole in the main water flow tube and then the extra bit of green tube is fill with silicon sealant. I haven't tested it properly yet, I'm still waiting for the sealant to go off.

What do you think of it?

You might find it goes back down the pipe. but if you have a non return valve it shouldnt cause a problem. Just dont know if your'll have to have too higher pressure for the co2 to push the water back it will raise hte levels too much.

That's the technique I use Dave - except yours is a lot neater! I have just drilled a 6mm hole into my filter inlet tube and inserted the CO2 hose.

I got the idea from you, George.
I had some time to kill and some spare tube.
I'll be fitting it the weekend. Hopefully it will work quite nicely.

i tried putting the co2 into an external but the noise drove me mad! i am now testing a few different diffusers to find the best one.

add a fine airstone and the noise is hugely reduced. mine makes a tiny crunching sound but you need to open the cabinet door to hear it.

if you look at my pic above the white bit is a very fine airstone used in protein skimmers. works a treat, much finer than the standard blue ones

I've heard it can make a noice, but if it get to much I will look into a reactor.

Well I add it to the filter, and it did not work. :(
My filter has a media container and the co2 just went up the side. It just sat under the rim of the container. I put the Nutrafin ladder in for now, but I will get the bits I need to remove the media container. That one excellent thing about Ehiem, you can get all the bits you want. :D
