Okay, well, so, I want more fish.

No surprise there, but right now I'm kind of *STUCK*....

I have a 10-gallon that at the moment is already somewhat overstocked. I still need to add three more white cloud minnows because of my currently lonely one, but I *STILL* want guppies and harlequin rasboras and just.... UGH. DX Therefore, I decided to save up my paper route money and maybe in a few months buy a 20-gallon tank. But first, I want to know this:

Would a typical 20-gallon, do you think, fit on my dresser? I'm sure they come in different dimensions -- like, long ones and tall ones and the like. But....

I measured the current 10-gallon tank and if going by l x w x h then it is 20 x 10 x 12 inches.

The dresser's top is about 65 inches (o_O; that's a LOT) in length, and 19 inches in width.... Well, it might be the other way around, but whatever; it's still the same thing.

Could a 20-gallon even fit on my dresser?! Because not that I get all excited, and then it's a no-no right from the *START*. XD If it can't fit, well, then, screw that; maybe I'll just buy another 10-gallon....? But it's my absolute dream to have a 20-gallon (or even bigger) tank, but my Mom wouldn't let me buy one that fateful day at the store when we were picking a tank for my birthday. XD

Soo....?

The only thing I would worry about is the weight, but I think you will be just fine!

I have put tanks on lots of different surfaces by first putting a nice thick piece of plywood on top to take the weight off the surface and put it on the uprights. For something that had to span 5 feet, I would be using 3/4 inch thick plywood. That way the tank would not damage the dresser top.
